Jershon and the Enchanted Forest

One sunny afternoon, Jershon and his friends, Job and Jaison, stumbled upon a hidden path leading into a strange, glowing forest. The trees shimmered with golden leaves, and the air smelled sweet like honey.

As they ventured deeper, they met a talking owl named Ollie, who warned them of an ancient curse. “The forest is slowly losing its magic! Only those brave enough to solve three riddles can save it.”

Jershon, with his sharp mind, led the way. The first riddle appeared in a whispering voice: “I grow but never walk, I drink but never eat. What am I?”

Jershon thought hard. “A tree!” he said confidently. The forest smiled, and the path opened further.

The second riddle awaited them: “I’m always running, but never get tired. What am I?”

Jaison excitedly shouted, “A river!” The trees glowed brighter as the river beside them sparkled.

Finally, the third riddle came: “The more you take, the more you leave behind. What am I?”

Job, who had been quiet, whispered, “Footsteps…”

The forest erupted in light, and the magic was restored! Ollie hooted with joy. “You’ve saved the Enchanted Forest! Its magic will live on because of your bravery.”

From that day on, Jershon, Job, and Jaison became heroes of the forest. They returned home, knowing they had done something incredible.

The Tragic Tale of Mullaperiyar dam

###Act I, Scene I

[A serene landscape of the Western Ghats, with the grand Mullaperiyar Dam overseeing the river Periyar.]

Chorus:

Hark! Attend to tale of woe and might,

Wherein the Mullaperiyar’s lofty height,

With water’s gift, brought prosperity bright,

Yet hid a doom beneath its grandeur’s sight.

Constructed in the year of our Lord’s grace,

In eighteen hundred ninety-five’s embrace,

This dam, by human skill and wisdom traced,

Would bless both lands with bounteous flow of space.

Act I, Scene II

[A grand hall where ministers of Kerala and Tamil Nadu confer.]

Minister of Kerala:

Behold the dam, our pride and high renown,

Its waters serve both districts near and far,

Idukki, Kottayam, and Alappuzha’s crown,

To Tamil Nadu’s realm, its blessings are.

Minister of Tamil Nadu:

Yea, fair is this alliance, fruitful trade,

With Theni, Dindigul, and Madurai,

To Sivaganga’s shores our favor laid,

Yet whispers of decay do darkly lie.

Chorus:

But lo! As years did pass and weariness show,

The dam, once strong, did tremble with its load,

And warnings came like thunderous forebode,

Yet in their greed, the rulers turned to goad.

Act II, Scene I

[The council chambers, where reports of the dam’s failing strength are discussed.]

Engineer:

My lords, the dam, though regal in its height,

Doth show its age, and cracks do mar its might,

It needs repair, for if the storm doth bite,

It may collapse and flood the land in fright.

Minister of Kerala:

Nay, let not fear disrupt our well-laid schemes,

For wealth and power flow from this great dream,

We must not mar our profit with such screams,

Our subjects’ safety, though, is but a theme.

Minister of Tamil Nadu:

Agreed, for should the dam’s fine water cease,

Our fields and towns shall fall to barren peace,

Let not our gain be turned to troubled fleece,

Inaction serves us well, and brings release.

Chorus:

Thus blind were they to warnings, dire and true,

And in their sloth, the dam did strain anew,

As river’s might did build and tempest blew,

The dam, once proud, would soon be overthrew.

Act III, Scene I

[The fateful day: the dam breaks, unleashing a flood.]

Chorus:

Behold! The dam in sorrow’s final breath,

It bursts asunder, heralds of distress,

The Periyar’s wrath doth flood both land and hearth,

With water’s rage, the towns are thus suppressed.

In Idukki, Kottayam, and Alappuzha’s vale,

And Theni, Dindigul, where many wail,

Destruction reigns, and lives are swept away,

For selfish gains did pave the ruin’s way.

Act III, Scene II

[A desolate scene of the flood’s aftermath; survivors lament.]

Survivor:

O cruel fate, which claims both life and trust,

The rulers’ greed hath led to grievous loss,

Our homes are wrecked, our futures turn to dust,

And yet, the politicians count their cross.

Chorus:

O politicians, thou who chose to ignore,

The pleas of those who lived beneath thy power,

Thy inaction brought this dire uproar,

And now, the floods do claim their final hour.

Act IV, Scene I

[A public gathering where citizens demand accountability.]

Citizen Leader:

Let all behold the ruin wrought by greed,

The dam’s collapse, a sign of failed decree,

Let rulers know, and future’s eyes do heed,

That safety must o’er profit ever be.

Chorus:

Thus ends the tale of grandeur turned to grime,

A lesson learned in bitter, stormy time,

The Mullaperiyar, once a pride sublime,

Now stands as caution in our darkest chime.

Bella and the Magic Garden

Once upon a time, in a small village surrounded by lush green fields, there lived a little girl named Bella. Bella loved to spend her days in the garden behind her house. It was a special place, filled with vibrant flowers, tall trees, and chirping birds. But what made the garden truly magical was a hidden secret that only Bella knew.

One sunny afternoon, while Bella was playing in the garden, she discovered a tiny, sparkling door at the base of an ancient oak tree. Curious, Bella gently pushed the door open and peeked inside. To her amazement, she found herself in a magical garden, even more beautiful than the one outside. The flowers here were the brightest colours she had ever seen, and the air was filled with the sweetest fragrance.

As Bella walked through the garden, she met a group of friendly animals. There was a wise old owl, a playful rabbit, and a tiny, talking butterfly. They told Bella that this was a secret garden, where only those with kind hearts could enter. The garden was special because it granted a wish to anyone who found it.

Excited, Bella thought carefully about her wish. She wished for the happiness and well-being of all the people in her village. The animals smiled and told her that her wish was granted. From that day on, the village was filled with joy and prosperity.

Bella visited the magic garden often, but she kept its location a secret, knowing that its magic was meant to be shared through kindness and love. And so, the little garden behind Bella’s house remained a place of wonder, a gateway to a world where wishes came true, and where magic was always just a step away.

The Adventures of Sammy the Squirrel

Once upon a time in a big, green forest, there lived a curious little squirrel named Sammy. Sammy had fluffy brown fur, bright eyes, and a bushy tail that twitched with excitement every time he found something new.

One sunny morning, Sammy woke up with a big smile. Today was the day he was going on an adventure to find the legendary Golden Acorn. The Golden Acorn was said to grant a special wish to whoever found it. Sammy had heard about it from the wise old owl, Oliver, and he couldn’t wait to see if the stories were true.

With a tiny backpack filled with snacks and a map, Sammy set off on his adventure. As he scampered through the forest, he met his friends: Lucy the Ladybug, Benny the Bluebird, and Freddie the Frog.

“Hi, Sammy! Where are you going?” asked Lucy, fluttering her tiny wings.

“I’m going to find the Golden Acorn!” Sammy replied excitedly.

Lucy’s eyes widened. “Wow! Can we come with you?”

“Of course!” Sammy said, and together they continued their journey.

As they ventured deeper into the forest, they reached a sparkling river. On the other side, they saw a large, ancient tree with a sign that read: “The Golden Acorn is near, but first, you must solve the riddle.”

The friends gathered around the sign, which had a riddle written on it:

“I have a heart that doesn’t beat, I have a soul that’s never seen, I am hidden in the forest deep, but find me and your wish will be keen.”

Sammy and his friends thought hard. What could the answer be?

After a few moments, Benny the Bluebird chirped, “I think the answer is a tree! Trees have hearts and souls if you think of their life and growth.”

Sammy’s eyes sparkled. “That’s it! The Golden Acorn must be hidden in a tree!”

They searched around the ancient tree and soon found a small hole at the base. Sammy reached inside and, with a joyful squeal, pulled out a shiny, golden acorn.

The acorn sparkled in the sunlight, and Sammy’s friends cheered. Sammy held it up high and made a wish. He wished for the forest to always be a happy, safe place for all its creatures.

As soon as he made the wish, a warm breeze blew through the trees, and the forest seemed to glow with a magical light. Sammy and his friends knew that the forest was now even more wonderful.

They returned home with happy hearts, knowing they had made a difference. Sammy learned that the real magic was in helping others and making the world a better place.

And from that day on, Sammy the Squirrel and his friends continued to have many more adventures, always cherishing their special day with the Golden Acorn.

The end.
