IELTS writing task 1 – Map. University sports centre:

Question 6:

Model answer by Lifestyle Training Centre

The given maps illustrate the current and proposed infrastructure of a university sports centre, highlighting the intended modifications and additions.

Overall, the proposed plan will bring about significant changes to the university’s architecture, including the addition of a leisure pool, sports hall, sports shop, cafés, and dance studios.

In detail, while the university sports centre will retain its existing 25m pool, reception area, seating, and changing rooms, all of which will remain in their current central location, the gym to the north will be expanded toward the east, thereby increasing its spaciousness. Additionally, two new parallel dance studios will be installed to the east of the centre.

Other notable changes include the replacement of the outdoor courts flanking the reception with a large leisure pool on the left and a sports hall on the right. Furthermore, a café will be situated on the right-hand side of the entrance, while a sports shop will be located to the left, accompanied by an adjoining changing room.
