The bar chart shows the percentages of the Canadian workforce in five major industries in 1850 and 2020. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The provided bar chart meticulously illustrates the percentage distribution of the Canadian workforce across five key industries—manufacturing, services, agriculture/fishing, construction, and energy/water—in the years 1980 and 2020.
In 2020, the services sector emerged as the dominant employer, capturing a significant share of the workforce, while the agriculture/fishing and energy/water sectors had notably low percentages. In contrast, in 1980, the manufacturing sector was the largest employer by a considerable margin.
Specifically, in 1980, the manufacturing industry accounted for 36 percent of employment, services for 33 percent, and agriculture/fishing for 22 percent. In comparison, the construction and energy/water sectors provided only 5 percent and 3 percent of jobs, respectively.
By 2020, the services sector had expanded dramatically, employing 81 percent of the workforce. Meanwhile, the manufacturing and construction sectors accommodated 9 percent and 8 percent of workers, respectively. Notably, the agriculture/fishing and energy/water sectors each employed just 1 percent of the workforce.

Accounted for – to make up or form a part of something; to be responsible for.
Dramatically – in a way that relates to drama or exaggerated behavior; significantly or strikingly.
Accommodated – to provide or make space for something or someone; to help or assist by providing what is needed.
Notably – used to emphasize an important or significant point or detail.

Dear Editor,
I am writing to express my thoughts on a recent article published on August 24th, which presented a controversial view on Artificial Intelligence.
To elaborate, the article suggested that, if left unchecked, AI could become a dire threat to humanity and the planet. I find these claims difficult to accept, as they appear to be based more on speculation than on concrete evidence.
In contrast, I believe that AI has the potential to become one of humanity’s greatest allies. It holds promise for unlocking mysteries, creating new opportunities, and enhancing human connections by providing access to previously unattainable insights. Currently, AI is already demonstrating its value by reducing labour and improving efficiency across various sectors.
I respectfully request that you reconsider the article and present a more balanced perspective on AI. By highlighting its positive potential, you could encourage readers to view AI in a more constructive and optimistic light, rather than as a source of fear.
