Try saying these sentences with proper posture:

V and W tongue twisters. Tongue twister

Let’s look at the postures for the “w” and “v” sounds:

1. “W” Sound:

  • Lip Position: Bring both lips together and round them slightly.
  • Tongue Position: Keep the tongue in a neutral position, not touching any specific part of the mouth.
  • Airflow: Exhale air through the rounded lips without vibrating the vocal cords.

Practice Tip: Imagine forming a small, gentle “O” shape with your lips, like you’re about to whistle. Keep your tongue relaxed.

2. “V” Sound:

  • Lip Position: Place your upper front teeth against your lower lip.
  • Tongue Position: Keep the tongue in a neutral position, not touching any specific part of the mouth.
  • Airflow: Exhale air through the gap between your upper front teeth and lower lip while vibrating the vocal cords.

Practice Tip: Gently bite your lower lip with your upper front teeth, creating a slight constriction for the “v” sound.

It can be helpful to practice these sounds in isolation and then incorporate them into words. Pay attention to the sensation and the shape of your mouth as you produce the sounds. Consistent practice will enhance your ability to articulate “w” and “v” sounds clearly.
